Thing 4

Flipboard--colorful fun.  I haven't figured out how to make it serious, though. I mostly just use the NYT app and read free articles, but now it is a lot more limited.  I read the local news online but national news is harder to get for free (quickly and easily), unless it is reposted on social media, it seems to me.

I failed on the rss part.  I tried using those back in the day when they were the only way to go.  Frankly, I don't follow the 'sphere much.  I let info filter up to me via newspapers, friends and word of mouth.

Thing 3

Utilities

I am a fan of the chrome browser, so I downloaded that to both my iPad and iPhone.  It is irritating that lots of things default to Safari.

My most used utility is a free calculator Calculator Pro.  I use with my kid for algebra.

I found the fooducate app from testbook with arms' blog post on thing 3.  Pretty cool.  Should come in handy for the health class stuff with my kids.

Thing 2

Tips and tricks was pretty interesting although I think I was up-to-date on the common ones for my device.  I like knowing that there are lots of free how-to's out there.

Thing1

I set up a blog during 23 Things and never used it---not much into sharing my thoughts with the world at large! Although I do enjoy reading the thoughts of others!
